As the 21st community in the free state of Bavaria the famous "Adam-Riese-City" Staffelstein
since November 2001, can carry the title "Heilbad" (Spa Resort) in their city name.
With the presentation of the insignia hereto, 26 years of work where officially rewarded.
The development of the strongest and warmest saltwater source in the whole free state of Bavaria did start already in 1975. One year later a
scientific report confirmed the effectiveness to health for this 1600 meter deep powerful source. Since 1985 the visiting guests are enjoying
the 52° Celcius hot thermal water with nine percent mineral content and also containing more than 1000mg carbonic acid per litre.
In 1993 the second dwell was explored and also here the water temperature is 52°C and with a mineral content of even 12% was analysed.
