ADAC battery test confirms Moll's top quality again

Twelve starter batteries were under scrutiny in the latest ADAC test as part of the international EuroTest programme. Five batteries achieved a rating of "good", four were "satisfactory" and one failed with a rating of "poor".
The ADAC EuroTesters awarded the rating of "very good" twice. There are two test winners - the Hoppecke battery and the MOLL M3 plus.

What the announcements don't say:

The MOLL M3 plus hybrid battery is still running in the endurance test on the day of publication of the test results after completing 550 charge/discharge cycles.
This means MOLL supplies the ideal battery for anyone looking for a longlife product.

The testers are also of this opinion when they say the "biggest advantage (of hybrid batteries) is the higher cycle strength. The right type of battery for most applications."

As the MOLL battery also had the highest reserve capacity of all the batteries tested, it also offers the best protection against self-discharge. If the battery is discharged due to the creeping currents flowing in the parked vehicle, the battery with the largest capacity can naturally hold out longest. MOLL provides 20 % more capacity.

Obviously a battery that can be discharged longer also needs more time for recharging. The MOLL battery proved that it still offers full capacity without the slightest drop in performance in the cold cranking test even after this deep discharge followed by a full recharge.

MOLL also came out top in the maintenance friendliness category (water consumption). With 0.9 g/Ah in the EN 50342 test, the MOLL M3 plus clearly outperforms the limit for batteries with very low water consumption. This was better than some lead-calcium batteries claimed to be maintenance-free, which have the disadvantage of lower durability due to their design.

For those who still want to top up their battery due to extreme temperatures or a defective regulator, MOLL still supplies its batteries with the proven vent plugs. Whether service is actually necessary is simply shown by the magic eye built into the battery cover. This charge state indicator shows at a glance whether a stored battery has discharged too much due to excessive storage time.

It is almost unnecessary to say that the MOLL battery showed no loss of performance in the start tests, but the fact that a battery with such cycle strength passed these tests at a cold cranking current of 420 A, whereas other tested products only managed 360 A, should not be underestimated as another customer advantage. The MOLL M3 plus series is after all designed to cover a maximum number of applications with a minimum number of different battery types.

For MOLL, this new "very good" rating is a confirmation of its product policy traditionally orientated towards customer benefit. It is also an incentive to continue to prove the high standard of products that MOLL delivers daily to well-known German OEMs.
